Say Goodbye To Boring Business Cards
November 26th, 2008Let’s face it. You will come across prim and proper business cards encased in an equally prim and proper business card case in your business dealings. Thus, you will see rectangular business cards with the contents – company logo, personal information and company position and contact details – meticulously laid out to achieve maximum impact upon the recipient. After all, your business cards often leave lasting impressions.
And that lasting impression might be one of bland and boring, a dime a dozen, easy peasy lemon squeezy workmanship despite your best efforts, unimaginative and uninspired, and other adjectives that point to one ultimate direction – the trash can. That said, here are some ideas for uniquely-suited business cards that will make you say goodbye to boring and say hello to clever. (And these “business cards” will still fit into your leather business card holder, too!)
The Rubber Band
If you are a gym instructor, personal trainer and dealer in all things rubber including prophylactics, you can have a rubber band card! You can have the exercise rubber bands embossed with your contact information in small letters that, when the band is stretched, reveals your information in full. This is a very good way to advertise your “stretching services and products”, don’t you think?
The X-Ray Card
For the orthopedic doctor, x-ray technician, the bone collector and just about anybody who desires unorthodox business cards, the x-ray card is a very excellent choice. You can make these x-ray cards using small, rectangular x-ray films that will fit into your business card holder; your personal information and contact details along with your desired body part are x-rayed. Your x-rayed hand is a good choice but you can opt for other parts, too, depending on the shock and amaze factor you want.
The Balloon Card
Well, this is not technically a rectangular card. Your balloon business card is just that – a balloon! Just like the birthday balloons of children, your “business card” can be in any color you wish except that the imprinted words are not of the cheery sort.
You might have a unique business card but it does not do away with the necessity to include all the pertinent information for your profession and/or business. The only difference is that your “business cards” will blow their minds off, figuratively, by having them blow at them, literally!
These are just examples that you can take inspiration from. Depending on your profession, you can be as imaginative, as inspired, as wild and as wacky as you want. Just remember that the objective here is to make your business cards stand out from the rest without draining your magnetic money clips of its contents the other way. Indeed, clever in design and clever in finance is the way to go nowadays!
